Our Recommended Restaurants
Over the past few months we have been doing our rounds of wan ton mee stalls to see which is the best.
1. Local
We really must recommend the wan ton mee and char siew mee on East Coast Road. Its rubberband
texture and combination of generous helpings of char siew really got to us - $3 was enough for
Grace and SW plumped for the $4 oval plate with extra char siew and suey gao tong.
2. Western
- Les Amis
We were taken to dinner at Les Amis recently by our friend Wai. We had a heavenly pan fried
[ ] on apple slice, and as usual their signature souffle, was gorgeous. We insisted on
lapping everything up even though Wai was late for another appointment.
- Marmalade
Grace had dinner with Seang Pin in this designer restaurant in Purvis Street and had a great
lamb dish. It was done just right with the centre still reddish, just like all meats should be.
- Original Sin
This Lengkong Tiga restaurant delighted Grace for the mushroom starter with mozzarella cheese all
over it. Its vegetarian menu is presented in an unusual and cosy ambience that is perfect for
after work unwinding.
3. Japanese
Our all time favourite remains Sushi Tei at the Millenium Walk for its Sashimi Salad ($14). Fresh
fish slices mingle with fresh washed leaves of lettuce in a tangy sauce make it absolutely
irresistable.
